We are looking to add a Regional Transportation Manager-Western Canada to our organization. This opening can sit in either our Seba Beach, AB or our Elma, MB office.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Regional Transportation Manager is responsible for working with the Logistics Coordinators who are responsible for the scheduling of delivery drivers and delivery of product to Sun Gro customers. Responsible for networking with transportation/trucking firms, building and maintaining relationships with transportation and logistics partners to achieve business goals. Responsible for the logistics strategy and negotiating terms and conditions for Western Canada.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

– Ensure quality standards and delivery schedules are maintained in a safe, professional and accurate manner with a focus on transportation regulations and compliance.

– Communicate with staff and management on development of more efficient routes; address challenges of drivers, and the needs of customers.

– Through exceptional customer service communicate with both operations team and customers changes in delivery schedules, processes, etc.

– Abide by all Company policies and guidelines.

– Any other duties as assigned.

– Ability to problem solve and identify possible creative solutions to meet delivery requirements.

– Ability to work in fast paced environment

Ability to work independently or within a team environment; liaise with corporate Supply Chain/Logistics partners/resource.

– Working knowledge of Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and the Internet.

– Work cooperatively with a multidiscipline group.

– Interface effectively with customers, the public, and co-workers

– Gather information and utilize resources from varied sources.

– Perceive and evaluate alternatives

– Analyze impact of decisions before executing them

– Make and implement decisions compatible with organizational goals

– Plan, organize, and monitor activities according to priorities

– Control and/or adapt to interruptions, changes, disorder, and/or repetition, without losing efficiency or composure

– Ability to learn Company software applications.

– Ability to travel to Western Canadian site operations and transportation/logistics partners as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

– Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.

– Minimum of five (5) years transportation related experience preferred.

– Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

– Excellent decision making ability.

– Ability to work independently or within a team environment.

– Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
