Position Summary:

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple key initiatives within the IKO Global Infrastructure and Operations team. The candidate will need to manage and prioritize the full project lifecycle with IT resource managers and other stakeholders in Business and IT from initiation through delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This is a key IT management role within the Infrastructure and Operations team
  • Provides leadership in PM processes and best practices to IT team members.
  • Planning, executing and controlling all project management activities including scope management, requirements management, coordinating technical design and development teams, testing, communication management, issue/ risk management, budget and resource management.
  • Manage both internal onsite and offshore resources, and external resources with System Integrators.
  • Ensures information and operational issues concerning project status(schedules, deliverables, costs, risks, issues) passes to-and-from stake holders, project team, and management.
  • Effectively establish and manage processes with project leads, coordinators and supporting project teams to ensure all processes are effectively meeting business needs.
  • Monitor costs and project risks from all perspectives and effectively communicates appropriately.
  • Own complete project life cycle from definition to completion including success.
  • Establish new processes, document, consult, enforce and constantly drive project management process improvements.
  • Demonstrate an excellent ability to communicate, manage lead and influence teams that do not directly report to the project manager
  • Provide team member coaching, and work with IT resource managers on talent management opportunities.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:

  • BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or Business Management.
  • 8-10+ years’ experience in IT project management, PMP or CSM certified.
  • Industrial Manufacturing, Building Supply sector experience an asset
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging infrastructure technologies
  • Experienced with use of PPM tools, such as Innotas.
  • Candidate should be proficient in project management practices, a highly effective communicator and experienced in dealing with managing multiple complex projects concurrently.
  • Experienced with managing deployments of externally procured solutions, or development through deployment of in-house built solutions.
  • Proven experience in all knowledge areas of PM practice including scope, cost, time, integration risk, quality, HR, and communications management.
  • Experience with developing PMO processes and driving PM best practices to IT teams.
  • Ability to build and sustain excellent working relationships with in IT and across Business teams.
  • Working project experience in global companies across various time zones.
  • Travel estimated at 20%, within NA and EU
