Purchaser

The function of a Purchaser is to:

  • Order supplies as needed
  • Review aggregates weekly and order as needed
  • Negotiate prices and follow up on quality issues with vendors.
  • Price checks and research for new vendors
  • Work with internal customers to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards
  • Keep Inventory purchases updated through IGOR and ensure sufficient inventory is available
  • Coordinate inventory to production demands
  • Update Supplier Data Sheets (MSDS Books) as required.
  • Update the contractor agreements and insurance for Seba Beach
  • The Purchaser is also a member of the Accounting Team, and as a Team Member has the following general responsibilities:
  • Ability to train/teach new team members until skill competency is achieved (as required by your team leader)
  • Able to handle giving and receiving constructive feedback

  • The Big 5 (Safety, Quality, Housekeeping, Performance, Inventory)
  • Responsible for participating in KRA development
  • Communication with teams up and down stream in production
  • Meeting and exceeding quality goals
  • Expert in your area within time line set out by new team leader and SBLT (30,60,90 Day Reviews)
  • Participate in performance evaluations in a fair and unbiased manner

Regional Transportation Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Regional Transportation Manager is responsible for working with the Logistics Coordinators who are responsible for the scheduling of delivery drivers and delivery of product to Sungro customers. Responsible for networking with transportation/trucking firms, building and maintaining relationships with transportation and logistics partners to achieve business goals. Responsible for the logistics strategy and negotiating terms and conditions for Western Canada.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • ensure quality standards and delivery schedules are maintained in a safe, professional and accurate manner with a focus on transportation regulations and compliance.
  • Communicate with staff and management on development of more efficient routes; address challenges of drivers, and the needs of customers.
  • Through exceptional customer service communicate with both operations team and customers changes in delivery schedules, processes, etc.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years transportation related experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent decision making ability.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Typical office environment.

PHYSICAL DEMENDS:

  • Sitting and using office equipment (computers, telephones, calculators, copiers) for prolonged periods of time.
  • Riding in vehicles or walking over changing terrain
  • Lifting requirements generally under 25 lbs.
